About World Net Enterprises
The Beginning
World Net Enterprises began as MidTenn Enterprises, a sole proprietorship founded by David and Treva Finley in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in June of 2003. The company's name was changed to World Net Enterprises when it became a Partnership in early 2004, then World Net Enterprises Incorporated in January of 2007.
During the early years, David and Treva worked out of their home, along with their son Darin, building websites and e-commerce operations part-time. David maintained his full-time career with Universal Environmental Services, where he started as a route driver collecting waste oil for recycling. Through hard work and dedication, he was promoted through the ranks - from sales, to District Sales Manager, and eventually to Regional Operations Manager. During most of his tenure, David also served as the company's Webmaster, honing the technical skills that would prove invaluable for World Net Enterprises. Notably, Universal Environmental Services became one of World Net Enterprises' first major website clients in 2004 - a site that remains active today.
By 2012, the tremendous success of World Net Enterprises allowed David to leave his long-term corporate career and dedicate himself full-time to the company he and Treva had built together. For over two decades, the Finleys have been at the forefront of internet commerce, building a reputation for quality, reliability, and innovation.
A Legacy of Excellence: For 8 consecutive years, World Net Enterprises held the position of #1 TASER retailer in the United States. The company has managed over 1 million products across multiple successful e-commerce platforms.
Growing Into Office Space
In 2009, as the business continued to expand, the Finleys leased their first suite of offices in the Cumberland Building in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The modest suite included three offices and a bathroom - perfect for their growing team. However, the company's rapid growth quickly outpaced the space.
Later that same year, they expanded into a second, much larger suite directly adjacent to the first, with a connecting door in the hallway. This second suite featured a spacious front reception area, a break room for the team, and numerous additional offices. The two suites side-by-side made a perfect combination - administrative operations in the original suite, with the expansive second suite providing room for the growing team and, most importantly, allowing the company to open a retail storefront, Self-Defense Products & More, in the large front reception area.
That same year, World Net Enterprises' success and multi-site operations caught the attention of the ecommerce industry. In August 2009, Practical Ecommerce featured David Finley in their "Cart of the Week" series, highlighting World Net Enterprises' management of seven e-commerce sites with plans to expand to as many as 15 additional sites. The article showcased the company's commitment to professional operations and customer confidence.
Brick & Mortar Success
From 2009 to 2011, the company's brick-and-mortar retail location combined the best of online and traditional commerce. This physical presence allowed World Net Enterprises to serve the local community face-to-face while continuing to grow national and international e-commerce operations.
The accompanying photo, taken in 2009, shows David and Treva (center) with their six-member team in front of the office and retail storefront. Their son Darin, who dedicated 18 years to World Net Enterprises (2005-2023), is the tall team member on the right side of the photo and played a vital role in the company's growth and success. Within a short time after this photo was taken, the team expanded to nine members plus David and Treva, reflecting the company's continued growth during this period.
Transition to Full-Time and Remote Operations
As early as 2013, team members worked from multiple states throughout the United States, and the company's reach extended internationally with team members in India, Indonesia, and Russia. This global, distributed workforce was ahead of its time and demonstrated World Net Enterprises' commitment to both technological innovation and work-life balance.
Present Day
In 2017, David and Treva brought World Net Enterprises home to Harrison, Arkansas - where Treva has lived for most of her life, and where David returned in 1984. The couple married in Harrison in 1985, and four decades later, their partnership remains as strong as ever. From their hometown, they continue to serve customers worldwide, proving that commitment to excellence - whether in marriage or business - stands the test of time.
